Have you ever considered what it must be like to be deaf?  I don’t mean for a few seconds when you’re under water, or when you have an ear full of cotton wool.  I mean fully and completely deaf.  Can you imagine never hearing your mother’s voice or your puppy’s yelps, raindrops on a tin roof or the wind rustling through long savannah grass.  Do you know what it’s like to have your parents, your
brothers and sisters 		never, ever communicate with you?

HI HOPES knows.  They understand that being deaf means being part of a community, being competent and intelligent and having your own language.  That is why they offer services to families with deaf or hard of hearing babies, in their homes, for free, until the child is three years old.

Tanaz Hair, Body & Nails,  are organizing and event to raise awareness of HI

HOPES and the Deaf.

The Broadway show, Hairspray is coming to Gauteng, and a percentage of proceeds from the night of the 6th Oct will go to HI HOPES who will purchase Hearing Aids for one or two children who can not afford to attain one.

To celebrate the occasion and allow access to the Deaf, and awareness of the deaf a Sign Language interpreter will be

provided on the evening of Oct 6th. Please show your support of this special programme for children with hearing loss, and their families, by purchasing a ticket for this fun show.  See you there! Please forward this e-mail to ALL your friends, families and EVERYONE in your in-box.
