Tanaz Specialist – a new concept…
| We have for some time now, observed that our clients are aware of the fact that our stylists, although excellent all rounder’s, each have their own individual speciality. One may be an exceptional colourist, another’s expertise may lie in cutting. Interestingly both our clients and stylists are comfortable with and open to interlinking consultations, (that is: switching clients and stylists is not only accepted, but works well within Tanaz). This has prompted us to pursue our specialist offering from 2007. ‘Specialising,’ allows our clients to get the best possible service in all areas. For example, colour specialist or ‘colourist’, has the aptitude and ability to design very specific colour combinations and techniques, while a specialist cutter will be focused on the latest trends and methods of achieving the ultimate cut. This will ensure that we not only meet but also hopefully exceed our clients’ needs and expectations. | We believe that if our stylists are allowed to explore the speciality that excites them most, they will be able to use their focus toacquire more knowledge and excel in their creativity. Tanaz places great importance on working as a team, as a result we have built on this philosophy and have gone forward to create a team of expert consultants each with their own specific area of expertise.

Tanaz Welcomes…On that note we would like to introduce a newcomer to our Tanaz family/team - Roxanne Mathias who we are lucky enough to have heading up colour and colour training. Born in South Africa, Roxanne has spent the past 20 years in the United States where she has worked for 15 of those years. Her client list includes many well known celebs such as Virginia Madsen, Julia Louise Dreyfus, Jodie Foster to name a few. Roxanne started by doing colour at home in her Mom’s studio at the age of thirteen. She discovered a natural flair and affinity for hair styling specifically colour and began assisting her mom on weekends and colouring friends hair whenever the opportunity arose; ‘Working with colour has made me aware of the subtle changes that occur from simple changes |
in placement and colour hues,’ says Roxanne, ‘we tend to think of colour as bold and extreme, but subtle shading, softness and movement can make just as big a statement. Knowing when and where to make these changes has helped me earn the trust of my clients.’ Roxanne’s first establishes a good communication with a client to understand the clients needs based on their style or personality. For Roxanne a client’s colour should enhance their natural look and skin tone, as well as prevent, as far as possible, obvious re-growth, she also believes in taking into account their lifestyle. Roxanne plans hair colour with a ‘long term’ view so that her clients can plot their colour program for the year according to the condition of the hair, the season and their budget.
